Author Liz Crowe Guest Post

I want to give a warm welcome to my guest today, author Liz Crowe, who's here to talk about her hit series, the Stewart Realty Series.

In Praise Of the Cougars

The hero of Conditional Offer is, in a word, prey.

But he likes it that way.

Craig Robinson, a young man who at the start of the book is an unfocused college drop-out, seeking solace for a shattered family life in dead end jobs, pot smoking, rock and rolling and….older women.  He was “ruined” as he claims, by his first—the woman who deflowered him was a high school teacher but their story was hot and mutually satisfying, without becoming tabloid fodder.  He adores older women—loves their “stamina” and their experience that matches his own need to satisfy.

He finds them both challenging, and easy; fun, and deeply satisfying. But he has a problem: he honestly falls in love with pretty much every single one of them, which as you can imagine creates issues for him and the women who for the most part are looking for a hot young guy to play with then move on.  So he gets his adorable heart broken … a lot….until he meets Suzanne.

She fits his “type” to a T: older, successful, but she has a dark secret that haunts her and for some reason Craig holds back, doesn’t jump right in to seduce as he would normally do. He befriends her, they get to know each other and by the time they do finally connect, it’s even harder for him to let her go. Luckily for her, he doesn’t give up easily.

I love the concept of older woman/younger man, of course being a woman of a certain age myself I am fascinated by the perverse biology of when men and women peak sexually.  I get it on a Darwinian level: men peak very early, around 18, when they are equipped to prorogate the world with their offspring at the drop of a hat…multiple times a day if the need or opportunity arises.  But we ladies peak much later, usually around 40 when we have a lifetime of so-so experience to learn what REALLY revs our engine.  But by the time we get there, if we are married or in a relationship with a man our own age, well….can you say “Vitamin V?”

Unfair, but certainly a topic worth discussion and fictional fun.

Happy reading!
Liz

Conditional Offer: Stewart Realty Book 5

Craig Robinson and Suzanne Baxter had no reason to meet, no real excuse to be friends. But when heart calls to heart...blood to blood...should two people who seem destined to be together heed the spin of Fate's wheel?

Craig spent years floating through life on cruise control, using directionless jobs, his rock band, swimming, and a string of older women in his bed to smother feelings of loneliness and loss. He finally thought he had found his true love in one Sara Thornton -- A sexy, beautiful, fellow real estate agent and mentor. But his self-doubt and innate sense of failure is only reinforced when he realizes her heart belongs to another man.

When Sara introduces him to Suzanne, a woman fighting her own demons from an abusive marriage and subsequent feelings of inadequacy and deep unhappiness, that chance moment snaps Craig's hazy existence into crystal clear focus. A bond born of instant physical attraction is nurtured by time and shared experience, and plenty of erotic energy.

As Suzanne's past continues to haunt her, making her push Craig away just as he thinks he’s getting closer, each of them must come to terms with their true selves and face their ultimate realities.
