And all Aeveren have destined ones, fellow Aeveren they are called to across distance and time. Steamy, sexy, and unique, Destiny Redeemed is that new thing in PNR!

Here's the blurb for Destiny Redeemed. Enjoy!

Sentenced to spend the rest of his three remaining lifetimes in Nil, Amon Kalins is freed with the help of his Sidhe servant, Gethen, but now he must accept his life is never to be his again as the Council won't rest until he's safely back imprisoned within Nil's cold walls. Broken and nearly dead from his time in prison, Amon is saved by an Aeveren healer named Althea Forester. As a healer, Thea has served her people for forty-five lifetimes, never having a destined one and always knowing each lifetime would ultimately end with her alone. But destiny hasn't forgotten her.

Author Nicole Morgan Guest Post

Welcome to author Nicole Morgan today!

Hi Gabrielle, thanks for having me as a guest here today on your blog! I’m super excited to be here and to talk about my newest release, Impetuous [Incessant Passions 1] and it’s upcoming sequel, Tempestuous [Incessant Passions 2]. I’ve spent the past several months writing, planning a wedding and then there were the holidays, so it’s been months since I had a new baby released which makes these all the more special to me. While Tempestuous isn’t due for release until January 25th, it is already available for pre-order. And in addition to that, right now both books are on SALE!
So, without further adieu, here are my new babies…

The Callaway Corporation recently bought the high-end resort property Jenny Jacobson manages. In that time, they have micromanaged both her and it into the ground. With no budget for repairs she does most of the work herself. She proves to be pretty handy with most of the daily mishaps, until she meets the mysterious drifter, Thomas Beck.

In the middle of a plumbing emergency, Beck comes to her rescue and fixes the problem, saving her from further disaster and costly repairs. Despite her best attempts, she cannot seem to get away from this man who shows up at every turn.

Regardless of her cold treatment toward him, he turns on his charms. Will his cocky arrogance mixed with his sexy smile break down her tough exterior? If so, what secrets is Beck keeping that could ultimately ruin any chance they have to find happiness together?

This title is offered at a 10% discount. Offer ends midnight CST, January 17th.

EROTIC EXCERPT:

Her creamy skin looked flawless against the backdrop of the crisp white sheets.
With both hands, he firmly held her legs apart and loomed just above her already slick folds. He could see the glistening moisture already building up and coating her slit. Her excitement and anticipation was evident.
Hesitating for a moment, he looked up at her. His eyes met hers for a fire-charged flash in time. Gently he blew on her. From her pussy on up to her nipples he caressed her with nothing more than a gush of air. His actions were rewarded by her moans as she squirmed under the warm tickle of his breath.
“Sugar, I hope you’re ready and rested. Because I’m going to lick you, taste you, and suck up every last succulent drop you have to offer me.”
This time he didn’t hesitate. His hunger wouldn’t allow it. Dropping his head down, he darted his tongue out and slid it between her moistened lips. Her slit was even wetter than he expected. And so fucking hot he thought his tongue might catch fire.
He had been right in his earlier prediction. She was the sweetest of all the fruits. Like candied ambrosia, her flavor just seeped into his soul and took hold of him.
His tongue moved up and down several times at her slick entrance. As good as she tasted, he enjoyed the tease it provided. She was already fighting him and writhing beneath his ministrations as soft whimpers escaped her. Judging from her body’s response last night and today, he knew she was already getting close. As much as he wanted to taste the honeyed nectar she’d surely provide him in orgasm, he wanted to slow down and prolong her pleasure.
Removing his tongue, he traced small circles around the outer part of her pussy, from one inner thigh to the other, the whole time touching her delicately, taunting her with featherlike kisses.
Her skin was so smooth under his tongue he wondered if she was even real. Maybe she was a goddess that he dreamed up. Some sort of muse sent down from a mythical land to seduce him in his wildest dreams. He fought back a laugh at the thought. If she were, she was damn good at what she did, but even his deepest fantasies had never been this good.
Her fingers ran through his hair, and she whispered, “Beck, please…”
He was never one to watch a woman suffer, but he had to admit his ego did swell almost as big as his cock from her pleas. It turned him on to know she needed it so badly she wasn’t afraid to beg.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Michelle Englehurst finally has her dream job working in a tropical paradise doing what she loves. A routine day at work proves to be more than what it seemed. Her new client Brad Conrad is charming, handsome, and causes a reaction in her like no other man has.
Brad is on a forced vacation by his father, who claims he’s overworked. Begrudgingly, he takes his sabbatical with no intention of enjoying himself. A chance encounter with a woman he can’t get out of his mind changes Brad’s workaholic ways. He finds himself extending his trip and doing everything in his power to spend more time with her.
For days and then weeks the two of them walk a fine line of casual friendship to lascivious intentions. With time working against the two, they are faced with two choices, take a chance or throw caution to the wind and be…tempestuous.
EROTIC EXCERPT
Her soft and sweet voice begging him was his undoing. He should have been slow and gentle. He should have eased himself inside her entrance with care and patience. There were a million things he should have done, but in that moment in time, he failed at them all.
In one thrust, he slid inside her. The tightness he had felt around his finger was nothing compared to the intensity he felt as her pussy clenched around his cock. He shouted in both pleasure and pain as his dick throbbed and his balls drew up tight. His orgasm was just lingering beneath the surface, threatening to come if he dare moved.
Her insides were trembling as the walls of her pussy squeezed onto his cock, pumping him. He was completely lost to the slick vise which held him so intently. She was in control, and he was her prisoner. Nothing else mattered as the outside world as he knew it floated away.
He wasn’t even aware his eyes were shut until he felt the gentle tickle of her fingertips raking his stomach. His vision was blurry when he first blinked and tried to focus his gaze on her. After a few attempts he could see her clearly. Her eyes were swimming and looked like there was a dangerous storm of the richest dark chocolate swirling around inside them.
No longer did she look nervous and uncertain. Now she looked magnificent. Better than magnificent, she looked stunning. Her hair was haphazardly lying around her face and landed in a tangled mess against the pillow under her head.
Her plump and delicious lips that he had kissed only a few times, but already knew so well, were pursed together in a silent moan of pleasure. Her cheeks were flushed, her nipples turgid, and they looked like they could be made of stone, the way they stood at attention just like his cock. He knew how wrong he was, how sweet those rosy-colored nubs tasted while he worked them in his mouth with his tongue and between his teeth.
The thought made him crave to taste her somewhere else, somewhere he was snugly nestled inside. Even though he would probably give up his life’s fortune to taste the sweet juice of her pussy, he wasn’t leaving from where he was. She made his cock feel too damn good with the sweet anguish her tight channel was causing. The pleasure far outweighed the pain of trying to hold back.
She whimpered and flexed her hips, obviously trying to get him to move with her. Fuck, he was barely holding on as it was. If he moved even a little, if he allowed her compact, little pussy to caress his cock, if only for a second, he was a goner. He forced himself to regain control. He hadn’t been this helpless to a woman’s pussy since he was sixteen years old.
Shit, he was pissed at himself. Please her, damn it! Make her feel good! You finally have her, so don’t be a selfish prick and get off before she does.
She continued to move her hips. Her head was moving from side to side against the pillow. Her focus was no longer on him as she tried desperately to work his dick in and out of her.
The slight motion she was able to create was bringing that familiar itch he knew all too well. It crawled through his insides, poking at every nerve ending in his body, screaming to him to fuck her until he no longer felt the agony of holding on.
He refused to give in to it yet. With a shaky hand, he slid his finger through the moist folds of her pussy. Her clit, already swollen, was easy to find, and as he barely touched it, her whole body shook and she screamed.
Her shriek was unlike anything he had ever heard. The way her body bucked under the tiniest, little touch made her look like some sort of mythical creature sent down from the heavens to teach the world how glorious sex could be. His balls cursed him for making them hold on when he was so close.
With increased pressure, he circled her clit once again then flicked his thumb on the center of it, paying special attention to the throb he could feel emanating from it. She was close, so close he forgot about his own agony and focused on her, needing to watch and see her fall under his ministrations.
Author Brian Collier Guest Post
Please join me in welcoming author Brian Collier today to the blog. Take it away, Brian!
Hello everyone :)  First off, I’d like to thank Gabrielle for having me today.  It’s an honor to be here.  Now, let’s see, how should I entertain you?  I know!  Let’s talk about something that’s on the minds of most novice writers, namely where to find ideas for stories.
You know how it is, you have this burning desire to write but you haven’t a clue what to write about and it’s driving you nuts.  If you feel like that, don’t despair; just open your mind to possibilities.  In fact, I challenge you to do that.  Remember how you always played the “why” game as a kid, doing it innocently at first and then on purpose once you realized it drove your parents mad?  Well, this is the “what if” game only this time you’re driving yourself mad….mad with ideas!  The next time you’re at the mall, find a quiet place to sit and watch the crowd then start saying “what if” to yourself.  What if the carpeted hallway was really a stream and everyone was walking on water?  What kind of world would that be like?  Or look at that child over there.  What would happen if she suddenly developed the power of teleportation or telekinesis?  Imagine the chaos!   If fantasy isn’t your thing, then imagine the possibilities in a more logical way.  That man walking with the cane?  Maybe it’s a sword cane and he’s a famous European sword master injured in an overthrow.  Imagine what his story would be and write it!  That quiet woman on the bus or subway?  Perhaps she’s a timid engineer who has developed some new technology that will change the world but she’s afraid to tell anyone because every time she tries to talk, fear grips her so hard she can’t.  How does she overcome this problem?  What about that friendly store clerk you met earlier?  Maybe they are a closet serial murderer looking for their next victim.  Ok, ok, I think you get the point now so I’ll stop here.  Just remember, the next time you get stuck and can’t find the perfect idea, call up your inner child and play the “what if” game.  That’s what I did when I created my erotic romance story “An Enchanting Surprise”.  I had decided to submit a story to a book anthology with a “Boys of Summer” theme but couldn’t come up with an idea.  An ad for the Olympics came on the TV and I started playing the “what if” game, bouncing ideas around in my head.  Pretty soon I began to wonder what a heated romance between a foreign athlete and a shy woman would be like and before you knew it, I was tapping away at the keyboard.
“An Enchanting Surprise” was originally published as part of Pink Petal Books erotic romance anthology “The Boys of Summer” and was recently released in novella form in October.  Here’s a little teaser for you and a longer excerpt:
Blurb:
Skie Wilson is a simple girl with simple tastes. Give her the job at the Cambridge Inn, her outrageous best friend, some puzzles, and a beer, and she's good to go. Of course, the one thing missing from that mix is passion and heat—the kind that makes her heart race, her toes curl, and her body tingle.
Jaded by a cheating fiancĂ©, Skie has avoided commitment ever since. No man has caught her eye enough to make her change her mind, at least not until the Spanish Olympic team arrives for a summer of training before the event. The scorching hot athletes offer quite the temptation, with their sweat-glistened muscles and taut bodies, but one sinfully sexy triathlete captures Skie’s attention the most. Will she hide behind the safety of the inn’s “no fraternization” rule, or will she let her hair down and have a little fun?  You’ll have to read the story to find out ;)
Excerpt
Time crawled by, the hours ticking off, but Skie got nothing else done that day. Oh, she worked of course, puttering about here and there, but her mind was only on Rafe. It was all she could think about – his body, his touch, their kiss – and she moved like a mindless robot through each task.
When she glanced at her watch and saw that it was almost five o’clock, her heart skipped a beat. Dropping her clippers where she stood, she sucked in a breath and tried to calm nerves. It was time and she knew it.
Skie was halfway to the back of the pool house when she suddenly realized how dirty she looked. It was too late to do anything about it now. Hopefully, Rafe would appreciate a woman that worked hard in all the things that she did.
Weaving her way around the inn, she approached their designated spot, making sure no one was around. Aside from a few guests, the place looked pretty empty.
Smiling, she arrived but immediately saw she was alone, a sense of sorrow invading her. Closing her eyes against the sting of pain that stabbed at her heart, Skie grimaced, knowing she’d let her emotions betray her again. As embarrassment caused her shoulders to slump, a single tear filled one of her eyes.
She was about to turn around and head inside when she felt something clamp down on her shoulders and push her toward the wall.
Gasping, Skie braced against the concrete surface, sucking in a breath when she felt a hard body touch hers. The minute he spoke though, her limbs went weak and she almost moaned.
“Mmmm, I wasn’t sure if you were going to come.” Rafe slipped an arm around her waist and drew her back against him. With her rear nestled against his crotch, Skie bit her lower lip to keep a whimper from slipping out.
“Not come?” she murmured in return. “God, it’s all I’ve thought about all afternoon, Rafe. I was upset when I didn’t see you here.”
“I’m here now, Skie,” he whispered against her skin, his mouth hovering near her neck, “and you’re all I’ve thought of today too.” The minute the words were out, he placed his lips against her skin and gently kissed it. She shuddered at the feeling and pressed her hips backward, a moan coming out when a second kiss landed higher.
“Rafe…I….” she lost the words to a whimper as his lips slid to her earlobe next, tongue darting out to tease it.
“Don’t say anything” he murmured in response. “Just let me…please you.”
Why The Death of The Bookstore Matters
I saw an article about Barnes and Noble closing a number of its brick and mortar stores, even in major US cities. My area lost its Borders and we got a Books A Million a few months later in its place. To say it's a pale replacement is understating it. BAM even charges for use of its WiFi, which tells me the place will be out of business sooner than later.
Borders had put all the independent bookstores out of business when it came here, so many saw its closure and company failure as just desserts. The same is now being said for B&N. While all that may be true, I mourn the death of the physical bookstore.
You see, even though I'm an indie who makes her living in ebooks, I still love paperbacks. I've heard all the excuses as to why it's time to chuck them--they take up space, I can carry a whole library on one ereader, and on and on--but here's the truth of it for me: books are more than just story vehicles. They are a tactile event, a sensory enjoyment that ereaders just don't offer. I love the feel of a paperback or hardcover book in my hand. The feel of the pages as I flip through them on my way to another world is unique. The smell of a book brings all sorts of memories to my mind, and when I'm done with a book, that story is added to those memories, making them richer.
No ereader can give me that.
I don't give a damn for carrying an entire library in my purse. When the hell do I have time to read 3000 books anyway?
For me, that's the real sadness at the death of the bookstore. Yes, there were always those people who did the Evelyn Wood speed reading thing. Good on them. For me, reading was never a sprint. It was never a race at all. I don't like speed in most things, to be honest. I like my food cooked slow, my sex to take time, and my books to linger. Books you hold in hand let you linger on them. They weren't simply words on a screen you pushed through to make it to the next group of words. They were things you held dear, displayed in your home, handed down to your loved ones.
The death of the bookstore signals the death of the book as I love it. No one is handing down ebooks to their kids. Once they're read, they vanish into the Already Read folder or worse yet, they're deleted, not even worthy of a memory. To me, that's something to mourn.
What's more, with books meaning so little, it's expected that the price should follow. Free books are the bane of the author, despite what many ebook authors think. To spend your time crafting a story that has meaning and characters that are more than flat, cardboard things moving across a page only to give it away in the desperate hope that someday readers will see your work as worth more than nothing is simply insane to me. I have no doubt it helps sales of other books in the short run, but to represent your work as worth nothing says a lot to me.
And readers complain that there's so much bad out there, but are they truly valuing books in any real way or just snapping up free books to pile up on the ereader? Like the arguments for the ereaders, I've heard the ones from fellow authors in favor of the free book concept. "Other businesses give stuff away all the time. It's good business sense." "It helps my other books sell and since I'm not big, it gives readers the opportunity to take a chance on me."
Well, I have never gotten much free in my life and what I did receive for free was usually junk. I guess in my 45 years I've had a different experience with free. And I ask you this: what other major industry gives so much away for free that charging for items is seen as a problem? As for the idea that I'm not big so I should give my work away, I've written for years, edited for a decade, earned an English degree and a history degree, and I've had enough education to allow me to be a college prof. That at the moment I'm not with a NY publisher simply means I haven't gone that direction. You want street cred? Read any of my books and see what I offer. Or if you're feeling pinched for cash, read the previews of any or all of my books and see that I have the skills that allow me to charge for my craft.
The death of the bookstore is more than people out of jobs and fewer places to find coffee and pastries. It's the spreading of a disease that if allowed to fester, will result in no value being placed on books or reading. Reading is worth the time and money spent on it. To devalue that is to devalue ourselves.
Blood Avenged Up For Best Erotica Novel of 2012
I'm thrilled to say Blood Avenged is up for Best Erotica Novel of 2012 over at Preditors and Editors Readers' Poll. I'm so far into the Sons of Navarus series now that I don't think about that book a lot anymore, but it is the one that started the series off.
I loved writing that book. To be honest (shhhh...come closer. I don't want everyone to hear this LOL), I don't love writing everything as much as I did Blood Avenged. Vasilije was a pleasure to write. I still don't know why. I'm not really anything like him nor is he necessarily like someone I fantasize about. (In truth, I'm more a Saint or Sion woman.) But writing Blood Avenged was pure joy.
That someone loved the book enough to nominate it is such a wonderful feeling. Thanks to them and to everyone who gives it their vote.  If you'd like to give it a nod, head on over to Preditors and Editors. I appreciate it. <3
A New Year
For me, January 1 isn't so much a new year as another year. You see, my son Christiaan's birthday is January 2, and 17 years ago today I gave birth to that wonderful soul. After eight months of being so sick I lost 28 pounds (yes, I lost 28 pounds while I was pregnant with him), he finally arrived after 3 weeks of being induced. Thankfully, he was healthy at 8 lbs. 1 oz.
I still joke that he's lucky I like him at all after what I went through to bring him into the world. :)
My son is one of my favorite people. He possesses more talent in more areas than I could ever have hoped for. Music, math, science, and even one of my faves, English, come easily to him. Add to this being handsome and luckier than anyone I've ever met and that's my son.
Today he turns 17 and this mother couldn't be prouder. The other day he heard me saying something about my writing (I was struggling with a chapter) and he said, "Mom, you never see how talented you are. You say I should always aim for the stars because that's where I belong. Well, it's time someone told you the same thing. This year I want you to get the great stuff you deserve."
Thank you to my beautiful baby boy for saying just what I needed to hear. Happy birthday, Christiaan. Here's to this year being better than ever for the two of us!
